NBC News viewers discover the link between healthy oils and a healthy immune system

Appearing on WBAL TV, Dr. Beverly Yates taught Baltimore viewers how to choose foods that support, rather than depress, the immune system this cold and flu season. She explained that non-GMO Malaysian palm fruit oil may boost the immune system because it is nature’s richest source of beta-carotene, a form of vitamin A. Sustainable red palm fruit oil contains 15 times more beta-carotene than carrots and 30 times more than tomatoes. Yates continued to say that the oil’s high smoke point prevents it from burning while cooking. It also has a neutral flavor profile so it’s easy to substitute this healthy oil for whatever you’ve been using.
