palm oil quality and sustainability

Malaysians recognized for their dedication to palm oil quality

For decades, international food manufacturers have associated Malaysian-sourced palm oil with quality. This proud nation produces more than 40 percent of the world’s certified sustainable palm oil. The United States, as well as other countries with high standards, imports most of its palm oil from Malaysia because the country is dedicated to palm oil quality. All parties involved, from the family farmers to the palm oil processors to the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) and government are committed to following best practices and producing a premium product.

By the end of 2019, all Malaysian palm oil producers will be certified sustainable

In 2008, Malaysia became the first country in the world to produce and export certified sustainable palm oil. In 2017, Malaysia affirmed its commitment to sustainability when it announced that Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification will become mandatory for all Malaysian palm oil producers by 2019.

This is a logical next step for Malaysia which has championed sustainable agricultural practices for decades. Experts have asserted that no other country is better equipped to meet the world’s growing demand for sustainable palm oil as well as thoughtfully address the environmental, social and economic aspects of palm oil production.

Malaysian-based, palm oil-sourced supplement producer recognized for quality

ExcelVite, the acclaimed palm phytonutrients producer, announced its successful completion of its quality audit and inspection by the United States’ Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA).

According to this press release, the U.S. FDA inspection was conducted over three days at ExcelVite’s Malaysian production site. The company’s production plant and Quality Management System (QMS) were inspected according to FDA’s Code of Federal Regulation, Title 21 Current Good Manufacturing Practices (21 CFR-cGMP). No non-compliances were reported.

ExcelVite Quality Assurance Manager YT Chan commented, “As part of the company’s commitment to ensure that our QMS is compliant with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP), we are proud to know that our existing system meets the quality criteria and requirements of the U.S. FDA. It is of utmost importance to ensure that the entire system is adhered to and implemented at all times in order to ensure product quality and safety, which is our commitment to customers.”
