During the nationwide stay-at-home orders, Third Age helped its readers take measures to support their immune systems. The premier health and wellness site targeted to women printed an article by ER physician Ara Suppiah, MD in which he gave diet, exercise and sleep advice. The Malaysian-born physician suggested using more Malaysian certified sustainable palm oil for cooking because it is less inflammatory than some other edible oils. “Your goal, especially while you are healthy, should be to minimize chronic inflammation, which is mainly driven by unhealthy omega-6 fatty acid levels in the body. This buys your body more resilience when infected by a virus,” he wrote.
