Experts are beginning to accept that saturated fat and cholesterol do not contribute to heart disease. To manage heart health, they recommend buying foods at the grocery store that are minimally processed such as Malaysian palm oil. In an interview on NBC affiliate TV station WSMV, best-selling author Jonny Bowden, Ph.D., CNS, stressed that we’ve been wrongly trying to avoid healthy fats for years. “Now there’s even more powerful evidence that saturated fat is not the problem … we should be focusing on some very different things.” He commented that Malaysian palm oil is nutritious and is sustainably produced.
