CBS TV viewers encouraged to choose Malaysian palm fruit oil and reduce vegetable oil use

“I’m a big advocate of redeeming the reputation of saturated fat,” stated Dr. Jonny Bowden during a KCTV 5 News Better Kansas City interview. Saturated fat’s unwarranted reputation caused people to cook with vegetable oil, which is high in inflammatory omega-6. Bowden urged viewers to cut back on their vegetable oil use and to “move back to some of the more healthy saturated fats,” including Malaysian palm fruit oil. Rich in antioxidants, an abundance of beta carotene gives Malaysian red palm fruit oil its red color. It’s also full of tocotrienols, which may protect the brain from stroke damage.
