Malaysia’s hometown newspaper, The Star, got caught up on the excitement when health and medical professionals from around the world converged in Malaysia for the first-ever Palm Oil Nutrition Week. Researchers and physicians gathered to learn the latest about a powerful form of vitamin E called tocotrienols, which is found most abundantly in palm fruit oil. Hosted by the Malaysian Palm Oil Council, this extraordinary event featured presentations by more than two dozen of the world’s leading experts. They shared insights from the U.S., Canada, Malaysia, Australia, Italy and other countries.
A plethora of topics was covered, including how tocotrienols may have protective benefits against major health concerns as heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis and breast cancer. Drs. Bryce Wylde, Shawn Talbott, Felicia Stoler and Sherry Torkos attended and presented during Palm Oil Nutrition Week. They will post their comments about the presentations, as well as videos of those presentations in the coming weeks.
