Encouraged by what she learned during Palm Oil Nutrition Week, holistic pharmacist Sherry Torkos shared her newfound knowledge with Mary Jane Popp, host of her own show on KAHI 950AM. As the co-author of Saving Women’s Hearts, Torkos already knew that tocotrienols and carotenoids found in Malaysian palm fruit oil are heart-healthy. She was excited to explain that studies have indicated that this oil may protect the brain against damage from a stroke. Malaysian palm fruit oil is also cholesterol neutral, thanks to its balance of saturated and unsaturated fats.
