During a recent appearance on AM Northwest (ABC affiliate KATU), Jonny Bowden, PhD, CNS, mentioned results of a Malaysian study looking at patterns of eating. “In terms of predicting heart disease, it didn’t matter how many fats you ate. What mattered was how many carbohydrates you ate,” he said. He encouraged the audience to use Malaysian certified sustainable palm oil instead of oils such as safflower and corn that contribute to inflammation.
