Houston’s Eyewitness News recently aired a Health Check segment on certain foods that have medicinal-like properties. Medical Reporter Christi Myers welcomed guest Sherry Torkos, holistic pharmacist and health author, who presented a variety of foods that are going from kitchen cabinets to medicine cabinets. Torkos explained that a potent form of vitamin E called tocotrienols may help protect brain cells against damage from a stroke. Tocotrienols are found abundantly in Malaysian palm fruit oil as well as in supplement form.
