Appearing on journalist Deirdre Fitzpatrick’s Dying to Ask Podcast, Nutrition Myth Buster Jonny Bowden, CNS, PhD, recalls having clients whose cardiovascular risk markers improved when they began eating more fat. “I eat a lot of fat,” he told Fitzpatrick. “Malaysian palm oil is one of my favorites … because Malaysia protects the animals and forests.” Bowden will even add it to his morning coffee to make bulletproof coffee. He explains that in other parts of the world, palm oil is used as commonly as Americans use olive oil. And, Malaysian palm oil is an ingredient in a lot of products we already eat.
