For those who may have allowed their healthy diets and exercise program lapse while sheltering in place, ER and sports medicine physician Ara Suppiah, MD has advice for an exit plan into the real world again. After assessing your starting point, Suppiah suggests starting your re-entry with the right fuel. “If you consume foods that don’t have much in the way of nutrients, chances are good you’ll be hitting the drive-through or vending machine for an unhealthy snack,” he cautioned. His prescription for good foods to consume right now includes avocados, berries, broccoli, eggs and Malaysian sustainable palm oil. “We want healthy fats,” he stated.
