Palm oil is a common ingredient in many packaged foods, from better-for-you nutrition bars and heart-healthy spreads to indulgent cookies and candies. Much of the palm oil consumed in the United States is sustainably grown and produced from Malaysia.

Why palm oil?

Palm oil is the most widely consumed vegetable oil on the planet! About 2.3 billion people around the world currently depend on palm oil as an important part of their food supply.

Palm oil comes from the fruit of a special species of palm tree grown near the equator. Oil palm plantations are incredibly high yielding and also provide an environment where native animals can thrive.

Why Malaysian palm oil?

Malaysian palm oil is a food industry favorite because of its quality, wholesomeness and versatility. It’s non-GMO and nutritious, delivers a creamy texture and long shelf life, plus it’s responsibly produced.

In 2008, Malaysia was the first to produce and export sustainable palm oil. One hundred percent of Malaysia’s palm oil will be certified sustainable by 2020.
