The public will soon be able to access concession maps to see exactly where their Malaysian certified sustainable palm oil was produced. An “oil palm concession” refers to an area allocated for industrial-scale oil palm plantations. The concession maps, produced by the Malaysian Palm Oil Certification Council (MPOCC) will empower the public as well as industry to support the use of certified sustainable palm oil and protect our planet’s natural resources. News about these concession maps was first reported by Bloomberg.

This announcement follows the November 2019 launch of the MPOCC’s mobile app called MSPO Trace. In addition to giving users a way to track the certified palm oil’s source of origin, the app identifies the locations of plantations and processing facilities that are now MSPO certified.

Updates on the nationwide MSPO certification process in Malaysia are also available on the MPOCC website
