Malaysian certified sustainable palm oil is good for our planet

By 2050, when the world’s population reaches nine billion, an additional 35 million tons of oils and fats will be needed annually. To produce that amount, it will require 88 million hectares of land for soybean or 58 million hectares for sunflower. Alternatively, it will only require nine million hectares of oil palm.

Although oil palm occupies only 0.3% of total agricultural land, the crop contributes more than 30% of the world’s supply of oils and fats.
